Join Tikkun Ha-Ir for our Annual Holiday Gifts Donation Drive! We are collecting NEW items, including winter clothing, hygiene kits, children’s books, and more for our service partner organizations. These items will then be sorted by need and delivered to organizations such as Rooted and Rising, Cathedral Center, Casa Maria Family, Aurora Walkers Point, The Grand Avenue Club, Pathfinders, Benedict Center, Guest House, the Jewish Community Pantry, and more. Rather than hand out items, donations will be set up so individuals and families can “shop” for what they need, choose gifts for their children, and celebrate the holidays with joy and dignity.
A few changes this year to note:
* You can now drop off donations at both the Peck and Marcus Entrances at the JCC.
* Lake Park Synagogue and Hillel are no longer drop-off sites.
* We are also collecting mason jars for VCS’ Soup on Sundays.
* Our sorting location is now located at Congregation Emanu-El B’Ne Jeshurun.

There will be a bin for donations at each location, as well as a Giving Channukiah! Feel free to take a “candle” or two from The Giving Channukiot with specific requests from our partner organizations. Mason jars for Soup on Sundays will be collected in a separate bin.

As has been tradition for years, Tikkun Ha-Ir will be serving an elaborate holiday meal to the residents of Cathedral Center on Wednesday, December 24th. Join us for this wonderful holiday celebration! Families welcome! Most of the food will be vegetarian faire, but there will also be roasted turkeys. We hope to make desserts too!
