Administrative Assistant, Part-Time

Tikkun Ha-Ir seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the growing efforts of engagement and action. This position supports the Executive Director and Program Director and averages 8-10 hours/week.  Much of the work will be done from home and hours are flexible based on the needs of the organization.  Occasional weekends and evenings required.  

The ideal applicant will be comfortable interacting with the Jewish community and is a strong communicator in various settings.  They will have a focus on detail and comfort in using online database platforms, social media and wordpress. Knowledge of design software like In-Design is a plus. Ability to handle confidential materials is a must. Looking for a self starter who is effective at prioritizing and adaptable to different situations.

 Responsibilities

  • Assist Executive Director with program logistics, materials, and supplies
  • Event management assistance
  • Develop organizational systems with Executive Director to streamline administration
  • Support communication with the Board and Leadership Council
  • Track budget expenses
  • Manage weekly donations and paper mail
  • Send donor acknowledgements and tribute cards
  • Work with Executive Director on timeline and delivery of fundraising materials 
  • Serve at the primary database manager (training provided) 
  • Support creation and distribution of marketing and fundraising materials, including newsletters and letters
  • Update the website, Post on social media and manage pages and groups 
  • Ensure documentation of events, including managing photography and attendance
  • Support data collection and evaluation of programs

Qualifications and Skills needed:

  • The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver, organized and detail oriented.
  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience and Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and pivot easily from task to task.
  • Knowledge and competence in administrative practices proven follow through
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Google suite, excel and pdfs is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as a member of a team, and as a leader 

Compensation: $18/hour for 8-10 hours per week
